The East Munster Schools Girls Track & Field Championships were held in Templemore Track on Wednesday 29th April in mixed weather conditions. Numbers were up this year with 5 new records being set on the day by the following athletes:-
- Ruth Heary, Waterpark who finished the Junior Girls 1200m Walk in a time of 6.08.84 to better the 1990 record of 6.10 set by Rita Casey, Presentation Lismore ;
- Orlaith O’Brien, Ursuline Waterford who threw 46.81 in the Inter Girls Javelin to break her own record of 35.86m set last year;
- Kelly Ann Doyle, Scoil Mhuire, Carrick-On-Suir who ran 62.69 in the Senior Girls 400mH to better the 2011 record of 64.59 set by Megan Kiely, Ursuline Waterford.
- Aishling Vaughan Witts, Borrisokane Community College who threw the Inter Girls Hammer out to 45.76m to better her own record of 43.66m last year;
- Orlaith Moyhihan, Loreto Clonmel who ran 10.45.45 in the Senior Girls 3000m to break the 1984 record of 10.46 set by Tina Moloney, Mercy, Waterford.;
- Ciara Cummins, Ursuline Thurles who ran 5.46 in the Senior Girls Steeplechase.
