The Schools International Combined Events Championships were held in the Emirates Arena, Glasgow on Saturday 12th December. Congratulations to the three athletes who represented East Munster Schools – Anne Corcoran, Ursuline Waterford, Jake Vermeer, Comeragh College & Daniel Ryan, Thurles CBS. Jake finished 8th overall in the Junior Boys competition winning a bronze team medal with the Irish Junior Boys team & Anne was 5th overall in the Inter Girls winning a bronze team medal. Daniel was on course to win the Inter Boys competition & break the record when injury struck in his 4th event, the long jump forcing him to withdraw from the competition. However, he still came home with a silver team medal & two new pbs in the Shot Putt (15.97m) & the 200m (22.65). We wish him a speedy recovery.
