East Munster Schools Girls T&F Championships 2016

The East Munster Schools Track & Field Championships were held in Waterford RSC on Wednesday 4th May. Many thanks to all who helped out on the day to make it a very successful championships. Congratulations to all our medal winners & to all who participated on the day. See Results below:-

5 new records were set on the day.

  • Tirna Cahill, Pobalscoil na Trionoide threw 36.10m in the Junior Girls Hammer to better the mark of 35.07m set by Jade O’Farrell Bond, Borrisokane CC in 2014.
  • Miriam Daly, Scoil Mhuire Carrick-On-Suir broke two records on the day. She ran 44.49 in the Intermediate Girls 300mH to exceed the existing 2010 record of 44.50 set by Megan Kiely, Ursuline Waterford. She also ran 11.36 in the 80mH to break the 2005 record of 11.39 set by Mairead Murphy, Mercy Waterford.
  • Scoil Mhuire Carrick-On-Suir ran 50.99 to break the record of 51.50 set by the Ursuline Waterford in 2005.
  • Orlaith O’Brien, Yeats College threw the Senior Girls Javelin out to 39.95 to break the 1977 record of 37.24m set by M. Maher, S.H. Roscrea.
